Exons:
Bits of information for using the MUSC Shared Resource,
the BioMolecular Computing Resource (BCR).

Exon_28 eXodus,eXceed and MiX-x-server clients at MUSC.

eXodus is produced by White Pine Software for both the WINDOWS and MAC operating
systems. The Library and the BCR only support the MAC version. eXodus
is configured for your use on about 10 MACs in room 437 and on the BCR G3
near the BCR office (see map).

eXceed is produced by Hummingbird Software Inc for WINDOWS Operating System.
MUSC has a site license. An Add-on product from Hummingbird is called eXceed3D
which coonfigures eXceed to support OpenGL. This is compatible with the SYBYL
software and allows users to view opaque and transparent solid "surfaces"
on-screen. Basic eXceed will not do this.

The MiX programs are a "free" x-server software which will nicely support the
SEQLAB GUI of the GCG programs. MiX does not work well with SYBYL.
