Exons:
Bits of information for using the MUSC Shared Resource,
the BioMolecular Computing Resource (BCR).

Exon_38 Running Roger Searle's RASMOL program and using the CHIME browser plugin at MUSC.
RASMOL is a FREE molecular viewer which is little short of
fantastic. RASMOL reads a variety of file formats containing
three-dimensional coordinates of atoms and renders them
in a variety of modes suitable for publication quality images.
RASMOL comes in WINDOWS and MAC OS formats. There is an On-line
manual. RASMOL is installed on the
BCR Dell and the BCR G3.

The RASMOL code has been re-worked to produce a web-browser plugin
known as CHIME. CHIME is part of the MUSC supported software and
may be found on the MUSC software distribution CD available from the
MUSC Library. CHIME allows real-time manipulation of 3D structures
from within web-windows. CHIME is installed on the
BCR Dell and the BCR G3.
CHIME works with Netscape 4.5 but causes Internet Explorer 4.5 to crash.
